Dr. Eidt joined SOCO in September 2010, after a 16 year career as a surgeon in the US Army.

While serving in the Army, Dr. Eidt served at multiple duty stations, including Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington DC, Winn Army Community Hospital at Fort Stewart, Georgia, William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas, and most recently at DeWitt Army Health System at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. His overseas deployments included postings to Afghanistan as a trauma surgeon and to Korea where he served on the DMZ as a general medical officer for the 2nd/17th Field Artillery.

Dr. Eidt has been honored by the US Army with the Bronze Star for service as a trauma surgeon at the 249th General Hospital at Bagram Air Field in Afghanistan and for serving with the 2nd Forward Surgical Team in Uruzgan Province, Afghanistan, as well as the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Korean Defense Service Medal. He left the Army after achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

Dr. Eidt earned his medical degree at the Uniformed Services University for the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics with a minor in Chemistry from Skidmore College where he played college lacrosse.

Dr. Eidt is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Dr. Eidt is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery in both sports medicine and general orthopedics. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Dr. Eidt is married with three children. Much of his extended family live in Orange County. He and Dr. Fitzpatrick are team physicians for Trabuco Hills High School and for J. Serra.
